However (ho hum), there are certain basic rules we would
like everyone to be aware of BEFORE they join the club
so that we can continue to exist in harmony. We reserve
the right to reject anyone who wants to spoil our good
thing. Play nice now…
Please read the Code of Conduct. If you wish to be a member,
please be aware that you must understand and abide by the
following code:
1. No one person runs the Creative Writing Forum Luxembourg
(CWC). The club is an open entity. A group of volunteers
act as a steering committee. New members and old are more
than welcome to join.
2. No one can use the name Creative Writing Forum Luxembourg (CWC) without express permission.
We mean it!
3. Persons outside of Luxembourg are welcome
to join. They may not however, be eligible for all the
projects.
But
people outside of Luxembourg may submit to be published
on the Creative Writing Forum web site.
4. We are a
flexible community in a country where people come and
go. Our aim is to be open minded, creative
and supportive. We hope that all new members join
us in the
same spirit so that the club can maintain the excellent
environment that has existed thus far.
5. Young,
old, in between, any colour, any religion. It is all
okay to us so long as you love literature
and can
speak in English. And anyone joining the club must
have the same open mind.
6. If you are a member,
the club is yours to enjoy and also to shape. If you
have a great idea, please
feel
free to propose it to the group. Good ideas can
be taken on
board and we love new members. If your idea is
really good, we will try to help you find support
for it
or match you
up with other creatives. This includes proposals
from singers, artists etc. We will help structure
collaborations
so that
everyone plays fairly.
7. The CWC has quite an
extensive library of literary reference material. If
you are interested,
speak
to someone at a
meeting and we will be happy to lend books
or courses to you.
8. The CWC does not have regular meetings.
If you want to know when a meeting is,
you either
have
to check
our home page for upcoming events or register
on our web
site and we will post information to you.
Administration is
boring and we don’t have time to
do it! Individual members propose various
meetings
and pick the dates, topics,
venues etc. If you wish to host a meeting,
let us know!
9. No member ever has to host
a meeting if they don’t
want to.
10. Members come to the meetings they
want to and skip the ones they can’t
make. It is as simple as that. We are a
guilt free club.
11. The CWC is a strictly NOT FOR
PROFIT club. Any monies raised by any projects
that are
organized through the
CWC are returned to the CWC bank account that
is used for the
promotion of future activities. Period. Please
make
note of this before you join the club. The
club is not about
money. We are about creativity. (please see
point 14)
12. Members of the Creative Writing Forum Luxembourg (CWC) and the Creative Writing Forum
will do
their ultimate
best to screen individuals and new members
so that everyone in our community upholds
the same
code
of conduct.
13. Neither the CWC nor the web
site can be held responsible for the activities of
individuals,
but we will certainly
do our best to reject or eject those
inevitable few who try to highjack a good thing. 99%
of all the
people who
have ever joined this club are here
for the right
reasons and have the same mind set – a
simple desire to be in a community
of lovers of literature, art, speech,
poetry,
film, dance, and singing etcetera.
It is a great group of people. Do not
spoil it!
14.
Individual projects can be proposed by
various members of the group using the
Creative
Writing
Forum for promotion
of the project. The individual project
owners then set out the rules of the
individual projects and
make these
rules absolutely clear to participants.
If
the owner desires, these projects can
raise money,
and this
money can be distributed
amongst the participants, or paid in
part to the owner, or donated to a charity as
agreed
upon by
the participants
and the owner BEFORE involvement. In
the case of individual projects, neither the
CWC nor
the Creative
Writing
Forum can be held liable in any way for
money or copyright disputes.
15. The
Art Echo Project is an independent initiative and is
not owned by the CWC.
16. HOUSE is an independent initiative
and is not owned by the CWC.
17. The
Creative Writing Forum web site is and independent web
site
and is not
owned
by the
CWC.
